How Can Talent Search for and Filter Shifts?

The Search Shifts feature allows Talent to browse and search for available shifts. From the Shifts tab, Talent can use the search bar to find specific shifts or apply filters to narrow down the results.

The screen displays the total number of matching shifts. Talent can also sort the results based on their preferences, such as viewing the soonest-starting shifts first.

Understanding Shift Cards and Badges

Each shift appears as a card that shows key information to help Talent decide whether a shift fits their availability, preferences, and requirements.

Shift Details

Each shift card displays the following information:

  • Shift Badges: Highlight key information about the shift at a glance. For example:
    1. 3-Day Event: Indicates that the shift spans three separate shifts across three different days.
    2. Today: Indicates that the shift starts today.
  • Shift Timing: Displays the shift’s start date and duration.
  • Position: Identifies the job role associated with the shift.
  • Responsibilities: Describes the duties associated with the shift.
  • Pay Rate: Displays the hourly rate, such as $15.00/hr.
  • Location: Shows the city where the shift takes place and the distance from the Talent’s saved address.
  • Applications and Talent Needed: Indicates how many Talent have applied and how many are required for the shift.

Application and Invitation Status

Shift cards also display relevant application or invitation statuses to help Talent identify shifts they have already interacted with.

Already Applied: If a Talent has already applied for a shift, the card displays a confirmation message indicating that the application has been submitted.

Already Invited: If a Talent has been invited to a shift, the card displays a message indicating that they have already been invited.

These messages help Talent identify a shift’s current status without opening it.

Sort and Filter Shifts

Talent can refine their search results using the Sort & Filter panel. To open it, tap the filter icon on the Search Shifts screen.

The panel includes the following options.

Sort By

Under Sort By, Talent can choose how shifts are ordered:

  • Soonest First: Displays shifts starting soonest at the top.
  • Latest First: Displays shifts starting latest at the top.
  • Highest Paying: Displays shifts with the highest pay rates first.
  • Closest to Me: Displays shifts closest to the Talent’s location first.

When & Where

The When & Where section allows Talent to filter shifts by date and location.

Date Range

Talent can select one of the following options:

  • Today
  • Tomorrow
  • This Week
  • Weekend
  • Next 7 Days
  • Custom
  • Any

Example: To find shifts starting tomorrow, select Tomorrow under Date Range and tap Apply Filters.

The search results will display shifts scheduled to start tomorrow.

Distance From Me

Talent can filter shifts based on their distance from their saved address by selecting one of the following options:

  • 5 miles
  • 10 miles
  • 25 miles
  • 50 miles
  • 100 miles
  • Any

This helps Talent find shifts within their preferred travel distance.

Pay & Work

The Pay & Work section allows Talent to filter shifts by hourly pay rate and shift duration.

Minimum Hourly Rate

Talent can use the Minimum Hourly Rate slider to set their preferred minimum pay rate. The search results will display only shifts offering an hourly rate greater than or equal to the selected amount.

For example, setting the minimum hourly rate to $14/hr will show shifts paying $14 per hour or more.

Shift Duration

Talent can filter shifts by selecting one of the following duration options:

  • Under 4 Hours
  • 4–8 Hours
  • 8+ Hours
  • Multi-Day
  • Any

This allows Talent to find shifts that fit their availability and preferred working hours.

Preferences

The Preferences section includes two toggles to help Talent personalize their search results.

  • Hide Shifts I’ve Applied To: When enabled, shifts the Talent has already applied for are excluded from the search results.
  • Only My Work Cities: When enabled, the search results include only shifts located within the Talent’s designated work cities.

The location icon on a shift card also provides a visual indicator of whether the shift is in one of the Talent’s designated work cities. The icon appears green when the shift is located within one of those cities.

Selected Filter Count and Summary

The number displayed on the filter icon indicates how many filters are currently selected, and a non-interactive applied filters summary is shown below the search bar. This helps Talent quickly identify whether filters have been applied to their search.

Note: Preference filters are included in the filter count but are not displayed in the applied filters summary.

Combining and Clearing Filters

Talent can apply multiple filters together to narrow their search results further.

Example: A Talent selects the following filters:

  • Date Range: This Week
  • Distance From Me: 10 miles
  • Minimum Hourly Rate: $13/hr
  • Shift Duration: Any

After applying these filters, the search results will display only shifts that:

  • Start within the current week.
  • Are located within 10 miles of the Talent’s saved address.
  • Offer an hourly rate of $13 or more.

Because Shift Duration is set to Any, shifts of all durations that meet the other selected criteria will remain eligible to appear.

Clear All Filters

To reset the filters, tap Clear All in the Sort & Filter panel. All filters will return to their default values.
