What is the Book Talent feature, and When Should I use this Option?

The Book Talent feature allows Tenants to directly assign a Talent to a specific shift without going through additional steps.

This function allows the Tenant to:

  • View available Talent.
  • Select a Talent based on their availability.
  • Instantly confirm or book that Talent for a particular shift.

Access “Book Talent” Option from Shift Listing

The “Book Talent” feature is available on the Shift Listing page. To book a Talent:

  1. On the Shift Listing page, select the shift for which you want to book a Talent.
  1. From the dropdown menu, click on “Book Talent”.
  1. A list of available Talent will appear.
  1. Choose the Talent you want to assign to the selected shift.
  1. The booked Talent ( if they are available) will be booked (or Talent committed) against the shifts.

Access “Book Talent” Option from the Shift Detail

Book Talent function is also available in the hamburger menu of a shift detail page.

  1. Select any shift from the listing page and open it.
  1. Click on the hamburger icon. Select Book Talent
  1. A list of Talent will be displayed.
  1. Select the Talent you want to book.

Usage Limitations

However, certain restrictions are applicable.

  • Booking cannot be done on overlapping shifts. You cannot book the same Talent into multiple shifts with overlapping dates and times.
  1. Select any two shifts whose timings overlap with each other.
  2. Select the “Book Talent” action from the menu.
  3. Select any Talent.
  4. This will display a message.
  • You cannot book a Talent if the shift has already reached its required quantity limit.
  1. Quantity in a shift represents how many Talents can be assigned in a shift.
  2. Select any shift with a quantity = 1 and book a Talent.
  3. Now try to book another Talent into the same shift (this violates quantity rule)
  4. This will display a warning message and will not book the Talent in this shift as the limit has been reached.
  • If a Talent is going into any kind of overtime (daily/weekly/consecutive/holiday) at the time of booking a confirmation pop-up is displayed. Let us take an example of Daily overtime.
  1. We have a daily limit of 8 hrs.
  2. Select any shift with duration 9 hrs.
  3. Select the “Book Talent” function and select any Talent.
  4. This will display a Daily over time warning.
  5. Clicking on the “Proceed” button, will book the Talent in this shift.

Now it is the choice of the agency, if they still want to book the same Talent and are willing to pay overtime or whether they want to cancel and pick other Talent.

Let’s take an example of a Holiday:

  • Sunday is a Holiday.
  • Select a shift that starts on Sunday.
  • Book a Talent.
  • This will display a Holiday warning message.
  • Click on the “Proceed” button to commit the Talent in this shift.
