Creating a Social Post

Summary

The video explains how to use the Social Posts feature within the marketing module to schedule and manage posts across multiple social media platforms. By accessing the social posts section, users can create posts for LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram (once system settings are configured). Posts can be scheduled to publish later, and users can include titles, descriptions, and media (photos, videos, audio, links). After creating a post, it can be easily duplicated for other platforms. The calendar view allows users to track and manage the status of scheduled, draft, and published posts.

We’re going to talk about social posts. Social posts are part of the marketing module and is a tool to allow you to schedule social posts in advance, so maybe one day a week you can schedule all the social posts across many social media platforms all in one day to have them scheduled and distributed and published over the course of a week or two weeks or a month, however you want to do it. So to get started, go into marketing and go to social posts. Here we have a number of posts already scheduled, but you can create a new one by clicking the create button, and there are four options that you have, assuming you’ve connected these through system settings. If you’re not a system administrator, ask them to make that connection for you. But so we have LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. If I wanted to do a post on LinkedIn, I’d click that and then I’d select who I want to publish it under, right?

This is already set up in system settings. I could schedule this now, it’s just as a draught post and actually have it published later, or I could go ahead and set the time and date now, and I’m going to schedule this now. I’ll give it a title, and this is used for our calendar, so this is so that you can track this social post on the calendar, let you see how much work you’ve got in there. As far as social posts go, the description is what you typically see when you’re on a social media site and you’re putting in whatever that post is going to be. That is where you put information.

You can put as much information as you want in here, unless of course you’re using Twitter, of course you have a character limit, then you’re able to upload photos, video files, audio files, or links to this post just as you would if you were on the social network directly. Once you have all the information in it the way you want it, you can save. Or I could say, okay, I want to do this same post on Twitter, and now it’s copied everything. And I’ll select my Twitter connection and go through that same process, upload whatever I want to do when I’m comfortable with everything I have in there. I click save and those will now be scheduled in the system, and I can monitor those by going over to the calendar and using the filters to just show me my social posts and it’s going to show me, let’s see, we have published, scheduled, and draught. Those are the colours and the stages. Again, something that you can set up. And so that allows me to come in here and see where we are with all of the social posting.
