Overview of Marketing
Summary
This video provides an overview of the marketing module in Senegal, which requires the CRM module for email campaigns. Administrators can connect social media accounts like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn through system settings. The module allows for the creation of email templates that can be used repeatedly in marketing campaigns, ensuring consistent branding. Additionally, users can define stages and widgets for marketing workflows, which automate tasks such as sending emails or notifications based on triggers. The core marketing components are email campaigns and social posts. Email campaigns enable automated email sequences, while social posts allow users to schedule posts across various platforms. The system offers a calendar view to monitor scheduled social posts and track campaign progress.

In this video, we’re going to do an overview of the marketing module. Now, the marketing module does require the CRM module. If you’re going to be doing email campaigns, we’ll start by talking about system settings for the marketing module, you’ll click the upper right icon and then hit system settings. If you don’t see system settings, contact your administrator, and then in system settings under system, there’s a section called social networks. You’ll click that and this is where you’ll connect your Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and or LinkedIn business pages or personal pages so that you’ll be able to post to those pages through the Senegal platform.

Additionally, under system setting system, there are workflow campaign email templates. This is where you get to design an email template that you might want to use over and over, so you can have images in there, text icons, footers. You can build this template out, and then you’ll be able to use this template. Maybe change the language or an image here and there, but use this template over and over again. If you want to build a series of templates, maybe you have templates for different purposes in the company, then you can go ahead and build these out. That way everyone who’s sending out emails through the marketing campaigns are following the same branding and styling of the company. Make sure you can save those, but it’s easy drag and drop information to build those templates, and then you’ll have those available when you start to do marketing campaigns.

Then the last part of the marketing settings is under marketing itself. You’ve got stages and widgets. All the records are defined by stages. You can go in and change the different stages that are in there, change their colours, those stages, support the widgets. There’s defaults in there, but you can change ’em to whatever you want. And then the widgets, what will be displaying all those stages, you’ll want to go in and set dates and department permissions so that people in those departments will be able to display those widgets on their dashboards. Once you have all that part of the settings done, then you can think about workflows. Workflows are automations that you can have the system do update records, notify somebody, assign a task to somebody, create tasks, send an email, push a notification, all sorts of end results based on actions that you want the system to take based on different triggers and conditions.
- 02:45
So maybe you might want to alert somebody when a campaign is finished or when somebody unsubscribes, or anything that you might want to do that you don’t want to do manually. Then you use the workflow automations and create that workflow and it’ll walk you through those steps. Once you have the fundamentals of that done, then it’s time to dive into the marketing. Marketing has two main components, campaigns and social posts. Campaigns are the email drip campaigns that you’d be sending out to your prospects, your leads, and your contacts in the CRM, and you can create a new campaign in the system. You can click create and create a new campaign. It’ll ask for module, sub-module, criteria, conditions, all sorts of information to help you define who should be getting these emails. Then you can go ahead and define what those emails should be, and then how often another email should go out.
- 03:42
You can wait days, hours, minutes, weeks, months between those emails. So you can really define a very robust email campaign. You can change the subject and centre, and then in the email, you can either create a blank template or if under system settings you had created company templates, you’ll be able to select those. And here we only had one, but you could have dozens of templates in here and selecting that will pull that template in for you to then customise, or you could start blank, and that’ll just have just the footer information and allow you to go ahead and drag and drop all the different components that you want over there and save them and build out that email.

The second part of social marketing is social posts. And social posts are posting to the various social networks, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, all from within Senegal. So you can come in and create, and if your accounts are connected, you can click that account, select the one that you want to actually post to schedule a time when you want it to post. Giving it a title is, so you can manage it over here on the calendar, but then the description is like the post field on any of those social networks you put in your post. And then add a file, a video photo, whatever you want to do, and then pick the next one and say, okay, now I’m going to do Twitter, and if we had all the others connected, we could just keep going down this list and schedule all sorts of posts across all the different platforms quickly and easily on this screen.
- 05:11
And hit save. And then the system will push those out at the scheduled date and time that you’ve put in there, and you can monitor all those social posts from the calendar so that you can be coming in here on the filters. And if you just had your social posts on, you’d be able to see if we go ahead and remove these. If we have any social posts, you’ll be able to see when those social posts are happening. If we have any in the system here, we can have a first social post there, and you can define even which stages of the social posts you want to see on the calendar. So a rich marketing tool to help you stay connected to your contacts, connected to your leads, and to be pushing information out across the social networks. And that’s an overview of the Senegal Marketing platform. Okay.
