Casual Shift Import
In this section, we will explain how users can import a casual shift. You can add multiple shifts by importing a CSV (comma separated values) file that contains the relevant data. This article explains important concepts associated with importing casual shifts.
This article covers the following topics:
- How to execute a casual import in shift?
- How is talent committed to a shift after import?
How to Execute a Casual Import in Shift?
Let’s conduct a casual import in Shift. To do so, the following steps must be followed:
- Go to Shift > Add Shift > Click Import
We will have the following page:
- Click Download Template to download the Import Template file.
The following Shift.csv file will be downloaded:
- Add the records to the sheet as required. Make sure to fill in the mandatory fields to process the file successfully.
- Select the CSV file and click on Start Import.
- A transition screen will appear, showing all the columns of the sheet.
The checkboxes next to columns allow the column to be selected for the import. If the column is unchecked, it will not be imported.
- Click on “Finalize Import”
The progress bar will appear, showing the import progress, and the import results will be displayed below the progress bar.
Once the file is processed, the results are displayed.
The “click here” button downloads the error file containing the records that could not be processed. The first column will have the Reason for the failed processing of the record. The example error file is for the Talent import in case of Shift Over Time.
The import results will also be emailed to the Tenant at the registered email address. Please find the email sample below:
Note: If the tenant imports the file and closes or shifts the browser Tab/wind in between, the import results will still be emailed to the tenant.
How is Talent Committed to a Shift After Import?
When an import is processed successfully, the Talent (whose email address is provided in the Committed Talent column) is committed in the Shift.
